St. Louis Annual Events

Life is never dull in St. Louis MO. Every now and then there is a festival or event going on. In fact it is like the locals here use the slightest excuse to hold an event. There are different events with different activities; this means there is something for everyone. Most of these events are for all family members; hence, you can tag along your little ones to enjoy as well. Some of the annual events include:

Fair St Louis
Dubbed America’s biggest Birthday Party, this annual Independence Day celebration event usually takes place in the first week of July. Last year, the event was held in Forest Park marking the first time in more than 30 years when the event was held in a different venue other than the usual Gateway Arch Grounds. Last year the event drew a whopping 250,000 people and the organizers have decided to take the event back to the Forest Park for the second year running.

St. Louis RV Vacation & Travel Show
This annual consumer event showcases recreational automobiles. Exhibitors showcase their motor homes, travel trailers, truck campers, and folding popup campers for sale. The exhibition takes place in January every year

St. Louis Marathon & Family Fitness Weekend
Held every year in April, the event is held to promote and encourage a healthy and fit culture for the people of St. Louis. Activities during the event include races of all ages ranging from a marathon, half marathon, marathon relay, fun runs for the kids as well as a fitness expo. The marathon passes through St. Louis land marks such as the Forest Park, Busch Stadium, Clayton, as well as the Anheuser-Busch Brewery.

St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Run
This event is held in mid-March to commemorate St Patrick. The streets of downtown St. Louis are filled with gigantic helium-filled balloons, sophisticated floats coupled with a complementing band. The parade takes place on the Saturday prior to St. Patrick’s Day. The run starts at the Busch Stadium and maneuvers through the streets of downtown St. Louis.

The Loop Ice Carnival
Join other locals in celebrating winter by performing activities such as ice carvings, ice slides, scavenger hunts, fire performances and live entertainment. It takes place at the Loop neighborhood every mid-January.

Soulard Mardi Gras
Enjoy 11 days of pure fun during the annual Mardi Gras celebration. Held in Soulard neighborhood, a place with a rich history, this event features both local and national band live performances on the streets. The event is held every Mid-February to early March.

Art Fair at Laumeier
Held every May at the Laumeier Park, this art fair features national artists who display a variety of arts including art made from fiber, clay and glass. Artists also exhibit their paintings, jewelry, and sculptures. Visit and sample the diverse artwork as live music soothes your ears in the background. There is also a beer, wine and food garden for the adults and a play area for the kids.

The Brewers Heritage Festival
Every June local brewers converge at the Forest Park to display their beers. More than 60 beer styles are usually showcased. Some of the brewers who participate include Morgan Street Brewery and Anheuser-Busch.
